Overview
The
CM3015 and CM3019 families of LDO voltage regulators offer either
300mA or 500mA output load capability with ultra
low noise operation, excellent
line
and
load regulation
and power supply ripple regulation while minimizing board space
real estate. These
devices are ideal for battery-operated products such as cell phones,
consumer and personal electronics devices where low quiescent operating
current is a requirement.
The CM3015 family offers 300mA output current capability
with fixed output voltage options of 1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 2.8V,
3.0V,
3.3V
as
well as
an adjustable output version. The CM3019 family offers the same
output voltage options but with a 500mA output current capability.
The
CM3015
and CM3019 are housed in industry-standard SOT23 and MSOP
packages that are low profile and small in size.

Features

Ideal for Battery-Operated
Applications
The CM3015 and CM3019
offer better than 1% initial output voltage accuracy while
operating with a modest 150µA quiescent current at light
loads and 165µA at 300mA. When compared to equivalent Bi-CMOS
devices, the CM3015 and CM3019 offer approximately 5% better operating
efficiency,
making them superior for battery-operated applications.
Enable Input for Power-Sequencing Flexibility
The CM3015 and CM3019 feature an Enable Input (EN) which is useful
for power-up sequencing. When the Enable input is taken low, these
devices go into a "Zero" current Shutdown mode, conserving supply
current. When Enable is taken high, these devices offer fast (80µs
typ.) power-up response.
Innovative Design Eliminates Output
Capacitor
The CM3015 and CM3019 devices are designed to be stable without the
need for any output capacitor, further reducing component cost. Additionally,
supply noise rejection can increased by connecting a bypass capacitor
to the BYP input, resulting in improved noise performance.
Other features such as reverse current protection,
overload current protection, thermal shutdown and
a small footprint make the CM3015 and
CM3019 regulators a reliable solution for today's
technology products, especially portable electronics.
