CMD introduces two new members of the LuxGuard family of High Brightness LED (HBLED) ESD protection devices, the CM1753 and CM1754. These devices are ideally suited for providing ESD protection on High Power, High Brightness LED applications, providing up to ±8kV contact discharge protection, per the MIL-STD-883 (Method 3015) standard. These devices feature almost zero conduction at signal amplitudes of 45V. The CM1753 and CM1754 are packaged as silicon-based sidemounts suitable for applications including existing HBLED lamp modules.
The CM1753 is designed for P-up common cathode configurations and CM1754 provides identical protection for N-up common anode configurations. Due to their tiny package size, these devices can be attached via a single wirebond which permits their use in extremely high density applications with strings of 1 to 15 HBLEDs.
