Product Overview
California Micro Devices introduces the CM1692 family, a new line of EMI filters based on CMD’s Praetorian II architecture targeted for EMI filtering applications in wireless handsets. The CM1692 is based on an L-C filter architecture making it a superior to common R-C EMI filtering solutions, providing a high level of filter performance. Praetorian II architecture, while similar to CMD’s successful Praetorian I L-C architecture, offers robust filter performance that cannot be achieved by R-C solutions, but at a cost lower than CMD’s Praetorian I filter products.
The CM1692 EMI filters offer superior EMI filtering performance advantages for high bandwidth applications, including high cutoff frequency, fast roll off, superior signal integrity and minimal insertion loss, at a price/performance point intermediate between R-C filters and Praetorian I products. These devices also feature integrated ESD protection with up to ±15kV contact discharge per the IEC61000-4-2 specification.
Applications
The CM1692 family of LC EMI filters is ideal for protecting a variety of high bandwidth interfaces typically found on today’s most advanced handset devices. These interfaces cannot be filtered with typical R-C networks due to the signal degradation effects that these solutions have on high speed signal lines. The CM1692 family features a 3 pole C-L-C (12pf-17nH-12pF) architecture which provides superior EMI filtering with minimal signal integrity impacts. |
